Genius is a powerful fragrance inspired by Cuban Genio Maduro tobacco: sweet, bitter, strong, and spicy, with the ability to grant the most intense desires, like an Efrit from Arabian mythology.
Ingenio
“Free at last!” he cried, his voice quivering as he looked up and down at the man with the twisted smile and a cigar in hand in front of the mirror.
“If only it had occurred to me centuries ago to ask myself to be a mere mortal!” he lamented with a wry expression.
He lay back on a bench, recalling the countless times he had grown weary of hearing, almost always in the same order, wishes for happiness, health, and good fortune. Another puff of smoke struck him, and for the first time he felt it reach his lungs, stirring an unfamiliar hunger in his gut.
He glanced once more at his reflection, watching the wisp of smoke rising from an old lamp, noting that he had no pockets, nothing but his eternal burden of wishes.
“Ah!” he frowned and turned pale, “why are there only three?”
Ingenio is a micro-story inspired by the powerful tobacco fragrance Genius and the painting of the same name — where smoke becomes a symbol of freedom, yearning, and inner strength.
